Gun, cop uniform found in man's unit
A MAN has been charged after detectives found a gun and a NSW Police Force shirt, belt and holster at his home in Sydney's northwest.
and Police made the discovery shortly after 5pm (AEST) yesterday when they attended an Ivanhoe Place unit block in Macquarie Park following reports of a fire.
A search of the premises uncovered the police attire, along with a NSW Corrective Services shirt.
Officers also located a firearm, a quantity of ammunition, nunchakus, a sling shot, and a can of Oleoresin Capsicum spray.
The firearm was not police issued, a police spokesman said.
A 44-year-old Macquarie Park man was arrested at the scene and taken to Ryde Police Station for questioning.
He was subsequently charged with three counts of possessing a prohibited weapon/article, three counts of goods in custody, one count of firearms not ensuring safekeeping, and two other firearm offences.
He was refused bail to appear at Ryde Local Court today.
