Well done, congratulations on your efforts and achievments so far. It's always good to see a keen volunteer get involved and make a mark.

All we need now is a few in NSW, Victoria and Queensland too!!

All the best, and keep up the great work.

Hiya everyone its me again with another ACRM SE Divison update.... as previously stated in my last update on the 14/11/2006 the recruitment drive is still off to a sluggish start but im beginning to think that the recruitment posters arent interesting enough to get peoples attention so i've brought one home and gonna re-design it

On the communications front i am proud to announce that ACRM SE has taken delivery of a refurbished UHF base radio so channel 5 can be monitored through out the summer and during fire ban days when the station is manned so in the event of a fire being spotted land owners & other radio users have the option of calling 000 to report the fire or radioing ACRM Kalangadoo so I can relay vital information onto the Country Fire Service

Be sure to check back later for another update and hopefully next time i'll have some new monitoring stations around the South East

Cheers

Robert

So far its been a sluggish start to ACRM SA South East Division recruitment drive but im hoping things will pick up soon as im planning to place more signs up about the place  ;)

I am happy to report that South East Division will be monitoring UHF Channel 5 very soon thanks to the help of Adelaide Division who are getting a UHF Radio tuned up and sent down to me as a temporary one until i can afford to buy a expensive one off ebay or out of a shop

Thats about all from me now i'll give you another update soon

Cheers

I agree but it was very kind of you to forward my application to ACRM SA? ;D however i am currently monitoring channel 9 on a 23 channel AM/SSB due to heavy skip stuffing the other radio up but i am on the look out for another 40 channel SSB radio? :)

For all of those who have a spare SSB radio they dont use anymore with 40 channels please let me know so i can take it off your hands  ;D

A couple of weeks ago i signed up with ACREM via their website but got a email from ACREM president advising me that it would be difficult to process my application due to my location in South Australia being no where near any CB clubs

Actually the reason we (ACREM) offered to forward your application to ACRM was not so much because of any difficulty due to location, but rather because ACRM-SA being the "origin" of the ACRM/ACREM groups we'd rather not try and compete with them in their home state!

ACREM is more than happy to accept members in distant areas well away from existing groups.

I think that there should be at least 1 or more emergency monitoring CB stations in every town right across Australia

That would be a great idea, if only there were people out there as dedicated as you!

Best of luck in your endeavours.

Hiya everyone it's Robert here again with my 4th topic posting

A couple of weeks ago i signed up with ACREM via their website but got a email from ACREM president advising me that it would be difficult to process my application due to my location in South Australia being no where near any CB clubs however he offered to pass on my details to ACRM and i kindly accepted this offer

1-2 days later i got an email from the ACRM SA president who advised me that my details had been passed on to their secretary for processing and sent me another email with a application form attached to it?

Being that there isnt any ACRM stations in the Lower South East of South Australia i have been given the unofficial of ACRM's South East main station but i need to send off my application fee before getting my allocated callsign and training manual hopefully next week sometime? ;D

I think that there should be at least 1 or more emergency monitoring CB stations in every town right across Australia

what is everyone else's thought
