Yep it reminds me of the 80's! I uploaded a video to Youtube...



They used to sound exactly like this back then too, even recognised some of the callsigns used... Mobsquad etc, if you look on Youtube they have somewhat of a cult status  :o

It's open again ... big opening this time. Perth and Darwin to east coast on AM. Strong !
Hawaii and west coast USA also coming in.

Lots of stations calling on 27.555.  South America, USA, Perth.
Not much on 27.355LSB but other channels are busy.
27.285 .. mexican stations everywhere !
Big signal from Alabama on 27.265.


Mosre on 27.550, 27.245.

AM stations coming in from USA on ch11 AM

Getting a lot of activitiy on 27-29mhz this weekend, strong signals from the states on 27.025mhz AM & 27.085mhz AM also heard New Caldonia/Hawai on USB above 27.405mhz even a Taiwanese station on 29.600mhz FM....

Well we're a bit short on CB idiots locally, so hearing any means the DX is up. The more idiots, the better the conditions :)

It is possible to have too much of a good thing though.... when the idiots spill over onto all 40 channels, then the solar max is a bit out of control.

yep. Was just on it myself five minutes ago.
And 27MHz, I put a call out and cause a pileup on just about any channel.
Even AM is working for Sydney to Melbourne.

Welcome back mr sunspot!!! been working the Adelaide 10m FM repeater on 29.620 ( only using 10w into a horizonatl dipole)  the last few days & having a ball!

Did a bit of a tune around tonight & 11m is rocking! heard some activity on 27.495 & 27.560 USB...  even heard some 27.085 AM Melbourne stations with +9 signals  just like the old days!

And again today.
Sydney open clear as a bell, Hunter Valley, Ulladulla, Newcastle, Brisbane, Gympie, Bundaberg, Longreach, Mt Isa, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sunbury, Horsham.

Some faint signals from New Zealand, WA and Hawaii.

10m and 6m also open all over the east coast.
