hi all , having been into cb for more than 30 years and owning at one time most of the cb rigs ever sold in oz cobra 148, 138 132, grants 858, 8719s , panthers , ges , cpis ,ax 144 ect ect i could write a book, used as a base station radio my johnson 4740 stoct as a rock does 20 watts pep ssb and has the best recive of them  all , even beats my cobra 148 on rx, my viking 4740 would be my best radio  on ssb, just my thoughts damo ;)

i think i know sumone that might have one i ask him what he is doing with it when i next see him
because i know he stopped talking on radio and sold up all his base set up and got online instead

hmmm hard

i started with a ferris 5000 that cranked round 29watts then to courier spartin pll
i love my courier spartin pll worked heaps of skip gotta love the audio heaps of punch


40 channels 25watts no extras and whoop whoop original stock mic

Best UHF Handheld Owned: OMDI 139 Channel UHF CB
Best AM CB Owned: Dick Smith Electronics 40 Channel (my very first AM CB) im using it as my AM monitoring station to monitor channel 9

the radio i have always wanted and may never own is a COURIER GLADIATOR  i thank that would be the best radio ever, but for now i am using a GE SSB its not a A or B its the one that built after the B with its upside down meter, i like the navaho base radios they sound great. hornet is the same as a bangal MK1 just dif color and rebaged as most 02A radios were back then.

I have a Realistic Navaho TRC-490, (used to have the 10kc slide)
a Dick Smith Hornet 2

Both these radios are no longer in use

In use are
Codan 9323 HF (plus the 27Mhz CB) This is the best that I have owned
Sawtron 999 UHF

 I loved my UNIDEN GRANT (PLL8719) 10KC slide and extra channels in it's day ,then upgraded to my trusty
 UNIDEN HR-2510 10mtr/11mtr rig with even more power/more channels? ? ?:o ?. . . then still to this day after many years i still have my "immaculate" RANGER RCI-2950 26MHz to 32MHz AM-FM-USB-LSB-CW that i still occaisionly use from time to time.

I dont know about the best but i have had the same PC122 for over 16 years, it now runs the HF 35LSB live feed.

Best CB Owned = Uniden AX-144
Dream CB = Uniden AX-144

i wouldnt trade the old girl for anything (except one of those massive yasue rigs)

i have most of the uniden HF/UHF range radios and the oldies out smack the new ones anyday

and the PC-122 was a puncey radio but still hell reliable for general communications, but like most radio operators u right to say MORE POWER!!!!!! lol
