The Government Radio Network here in South Australia was really busy yesterday because of the lightning storm which ripped through cause chaos & mayhem resulting in a total of 60 fires
For anyone who is coming to South Australia for christmas i would highly advise you to upload all the SAGRN voice frequencies into your scanner or scanners as well as frequencies 132.550,476.525/477.275 & 27.065
132.550-Country Fire Service Bomber & Spotter Aircraft frequency
476.525-UHF Channel 5 (Monitored by ACRM SA & CFS)
477.275- UHF Channel 35 (Repeater channel for channel 5)
27.065- AM Channel 9 (Monitored by ACRM SA)
If your scanner is able to pick up FM Radio stations put in the local FM stations of the area you are staying in cause bushfire warnings & updates are put on air.... also if you are lucky enough to come across tv station o/b frequencies during band search make a note of them
All of the frequencies above including the GRN are very important to have in your scanners while staying in SA cause you neve know what kinda emergency service radio traffic you are gonna hear..... if you wanna listen to CFS fire ground VHF frequencies search the 160-174 MHz range
Cheers
Robert
